A project may come to an end, but its impact is measured by the change it leaves behind.
GACON Ltd. was honoured to participate as one of the three Nigerian consortium companies at the Closeout and Brainstorming Workshop of the Dutch-Nigerian consortium project, co-funded by RVO, focused on the eradication of child labour and unfavourable working conditions of children in ginger production in Southern Kaduna, Nigeria.
Over the past three years, the project—locally implemented by Fair Labor Association (FLA) in collaboration with the Nigeria NGO CRUDAN—has strengthened awareness, empowered farming communities, promoted responsible agricultural practices, and reinforced the importance of collaboration across the ginger value chain.
As the project concludes, its mission continues through the knowledge shared, partnerships built, and collective commitment to protecting children’s rights while advancing ethical, sustainable agriculture.
We sincerely appreciate RVO, Verstegen Spices & Sauces, CATZ International, The Royal Dutch Spices Association (KNSV), FLA, CRUDAN, our consortium partners, and the ginger farming communities whose dedication made this initiative a success.
Together, we remain committed to building a future where every child is protected, every farmer is empowered, and every farming community thrives.
